Photo taken at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Naval Yard. Constructed in the Estinghouse plant at Essington, Pennsylvania, this Sperry Gyro Stabilizer was believed to be the largest in the world at the time. It was bound for Germany, where it was to be installed in the yacht of John Cadwalader, an American millionaire.

Photo is dated 1931.
