Pictured are Chief Radlonan Jospeh M. Eckberg of Chicago, Ill., and Chief Electrician's mate, Oliver J. Cameron of Poquonnac, Conn., walking through the doors of Gilmore Hall. The building was named in honor of Commander Howard W. Gilmore, heroic submarine skipper who gave his life to save his ship and crew.
