1934 Press Photo Donald Cook and Maxine Lewis obtaining their marriage license

Hollywood, California: Shortly after they were married last January 16, the romance of Donald Cook, screen actor, and Maxine Lewis, radio singer, went on the rocks, according got a suit for divorce filed in Superior Court yesterday by Mrs. Cook. After two days of honeymoon, Cook insisted on returning to Hollywood, the wife asserts. Shortly prior to their marriage, MRs. Cook had sued Mr. Cook for $100,000 charging brach of promise. They are pictured obtaining their marriage license last January.
