US Navy: Bombers: Jets: This picture released by the Dept. of Defense 9/16 shows the Navy's new A4D-1 "Sky Hawk" making its first carrier landing aboard the USS Ticonderoga 9/12. With gear, flaps and hook down, the aircraft flies "in the groove" on its approach to the carrier. The A4D-1, which has an unusually small wing span, is the smallest Navy aircraft capable of carrying an atom bomb.
