Private Eugene Cummings, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania (left) hands over his extra clothes and equipment to Private Eugene Stryjeck of Schenectady, New York at the Fort Dix, New Jersey personnel or Seperation Center, before receiving his discharge. He was allowed to keep his dog tag and given a good clean uniform to wear home and keep. Commanding officers and their aides at the numerous personnel centers where men will be mustered out have received a Number 1 command to turn out the homeward bound civilian in 48 hours.
