Description
Rear Admiral Hyman G. Rickover, generally regarded as the "father" of atomic submarines, was not invited to the special White House ceremony held 8/8 to honor the Nautilus' polar voyage. White House sources refused to concede that Rickover had been "passed over" in the invitations. They attributed his absence to a decision to invite only "top brass."
