Description
The Kenneth Schermerhorns are moving two blocks south to this house at 2409 N. Wahl Ave. Their goods started moving in Monday though neither is in town. The director of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and his wife, soprano Carol Neblett, will rent the second floor apartment and the third floor ballroom of the two family house, said Thomas S. Van Alyea Jr., vice president of War-Van, Inc., owner of the house. The red brick, English tudor house is known as the Rectory, because it was the home for many years of the Rev. Killian Stimpson, former rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, who is now retired and living in Florida. The Schermerhorns moved from their home at 2601 N. Wahl Ave. last spring so that the Milwaukee Symphony Women's League could open it to the public as the Symphony Showhouse. They have spent the summer abroad. Schermerhorn is expected home on Tuesday and Miss Neblett has gone to Italy to coach for her debut in "Tosca" in November with the Chicago Lyric Opera Company.
