The "last Covered Bridge in Wisconsin" designation for the famed wooden span across Cedar Creek isn't quite accurate anymore. Nell Taylor, a Milwaukee truck mechanic, has built a copy of it on a 1-inch-to-the-foot scale, and accurate down to the shingles on the roof, all 12,680 of them. a compulsive craftsman, Taylor undertook the project for the sheet challenge of it. And he is delighted to have found a way to share his enjoyment. He has donated the 20-foot-long model to the Ozaukee County Historical Society for display at its Pioneer Village's museum. Because he left a portion open to show construction details, the bridge has added educational value.

Photo measures 10.25 x 6 inches. Photo is dated 05-06-1980.
