Retired Milwaukee schoolteacher Donald Strube, faced with trying to pay $309,000 in medical expenses, trying to help rehabilitate his injured daughter and trying to raise her 4-year-old son, says he made a pact with God. But Monday afternoon, after five days of testimony in which 189 exhibits were offered into evidence, the medical malpractice case was settled before going to jurors for a verdict. The Strubes were on their way toward getting $1.5 million and some relief.
