1988 Press Photo Tailor Works With Sewing Machine On Ivory Coast In West Africa

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Ivory Coast is a country of contrasts, from 20th-century cityscapes to timeless villages in the bush, a land of dusty savannahs in the north and lush forests in the south. The head of state, Felix Houphouet-Boigny, has led the country on a path of pro-Western development since independence from France in 1960. It is a land of relative peace and prosperity in West Africa.
