Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Arnold Palmer had a kick coming but Mike Souchak didn't and couldn't kick if he wanted to. Palmer, favored to win the masters golf classic at Augusta, Georgia, was justly irked when his eagle putt missed on the second hole Friday. Souchak was all crossed up after a putt for par on the fourth hole popped in. He led the field after two rounds with a 139 total. He shot a 70 Friday, two under par, to go with his opening round 69. Palmer shot a 73 for a 147 total.

Photo is dated 1963.

Photo measures 8 x 9 inches.
