Anti-apartheid protesters linked arms to try to keep police officers from removing scrap lumber that demonstrators were planning to use to reconstruct a shantytown Sunday on the southeast lawn of the State Capitol in Madison. Protesters built shanties Friday and Saturday to symbolize living conditions in black township in South Africa.
