Description
An autogenous grinding mill, said to be the largest ever produced, is being manufactured by Nordberg Manufacturing Company here. Workmen are shown welding exterior supporting ribs on one of three sections. The mill, being built for a uranium mine in Canada, will weigh 550,000 pounds and be able to handle 170,000 pounds of material. In autogenous grinding, chunks of ore or minerals tumble against each other and are reduced to desired size. In conventional mills a grinding medium is used. It is the first such mill made by Nordberg.

Photo is dated 1964.

Photo measures 8 x 10 inches.
