Description
William Nelson was fired Thursday as Menomonee Falls' village planner. The action, taken by the village board in a 4 to 3 vote last Monday night was effective Thursday. It came at the end of a special meeting to discuss flood control. Nelson has been the village's master planner since 1958 and has written the Menomonee Falls general plan, zoning ordinance, capital improvements, administrative structure and other reports. Some of his recommendations have met with strong opposition in the village. Village President Horace Trenary said Thursday that the move to fire Nelson "came as a complete surprise." Trenary and Trustees Fred Butenhoff and Bill W. Dixon voted against the move.
