Description
Milwaukee-Harbor: Workers at the Port of Milwaukee move pallets on the pier of Terminal 2, which was reconstructed as a specialized steel-handling facility. The reconstruction cost $1.35 million, of which $1 million was contributed by the state in the form of a Harbor Assistance Program grant. The facility is expected to generate increased steel tonnage for the port. Improvements include installation of a concrete reinforced ship apron to support heavy loads generated by cranes and steel cargoes; a recessed track for railcar operations and 5.3 acres of paved backup storage area, Milwaukee
