1976 Press Photo CTPW committee vote to remove wall at Mitchell Field Airport

Description
The County Transportation and Public Works Committee recommended Thursday that northwest Airlines be directed to remove a large section of its newly enclosed cargo area because it blocks the view for visitors at the Chateau dining room and those using the north concourse at Mitchell Field. Construction was completed last summer. Northwest officials in Minneapolis said Friday that they had not been officially notified of any difficulties. Joseph Sanek, airport director at Mitchell Field, also said Northwest had not been contacted. "We will try to set up a meeting to see what can be done about the wall." He added that fire regulations required the enclosure to be built of concrete block rather than metal as originally proposed.
