These young artists are three of six who won first prizes in The Milwaukee Journal's 12th annual student art calendar competition. James Sutter (left), 15, of 2407 N. Farwell av., held his water color, "Farwell Avenue Construction." Judith Boone, 17, of 3168 S. 30th st., showed "Breath of Winter" and Byron Skowronski, 17, of 3458 N. Lovers Lane rd., Wauwatosa, showed "Desert Mine." About 700 paintings by high school pupils will be on exhibit daily until April 8 from 8:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. and on Sundays from noon until 8 p.m. on the first floor of The Journal annex, 922 N. 4th st. Milwaukee Journal, contests, art.
