Description
Flying Memorial - Frank Mots was known as the "king of kites" and he often spent his days flying a kite along Milwaukee's lakefront. When Mots died in 1978, the Kite Society of Wisconsin was formed. The group holds annual kite festival in Mot's honor. Sunday, kite enthusiasts gathered at Mc Kinley Marina landfill for the 7th annual festival. Right: the festival offered a chance to try out unusual kites. Above: Some people chose to let the wind do all the work. Below: Sue McGraph and her daughter watched their kite soar.
