Birth of a mountain. A new landfill is born as Bounyong Chantaziroun, an employee of National Seal Inc., mops seams on a plastic liner before testing for leaks. After the liner was certified as watertight, the first loads of garbage were dumped this week at Waste Management Inc.'s Orchard Ridge Recycling and Disposal Facility, County Line Road and Highway 145, Menomonee Falls. The 75-acre facility, which will take about 10 years to fill, is adjacent to the company's 45-acre Park Ridge landfill which has reached its design capacity.
