Description
She was 26 when she argued her first contested case. It was the Roe v. Wade case before the US Supreme Court, and it resulted in the 1973 decision liberalizing abortion laws. Sarah Weddington, now 32, pretty, soft voiced, and a state legislator in Austin, Texas, described the experience when she spoke at a luncheon here Friday. The event was sponsored by the Coaltion for the Right to Choice and the Religious Coalition for the Right to Choice at the Memorial Center. About 80 persons attended the $10 fundraising luncheon. There were no visible or audible protests, but some reports were that two women who came bringing a tape recorder were members of the opposition. She was a presidential advisor.

Photo is dated 1977.

Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches.
