Mr & Mrs John Alderton, better known as the saucy Sarah & villainous Thomas Watkins of Upstairs Downstairs, see Sundays at 9pm on PBS-TV, show off their two year old son Nicolas, born during the shooting of the popular Masterpiece Theatre comedy-drama series. The visibly expectant state of Mrs Alderton, she's actress Pauline Collins, presented no problem whatever for the writers of Upstairs Downstairs, who obligingly conceived a story line calling for house maid Sarah's parallel TV pregnancy.
