Escapes With A Broken Collar Bone: For two hours police and onlookers appealed to a man perched on top of the 50ft. fig tree in Prince Alfred Park, Sydney - in an effort to get him to come down but he refused. Suddenly he jumped and crashed though the branches to the ground - and escaped with only a broken collar bone and an injury to his left arm. He was taken to Sydney Hospital for observation. The man had scaled the tree after a drinking party - and his friends called in the police when he refused to come down and threatened to kill himself. Photo shows: The man crashes through the branches - and landed on the ground - but sustained only slight injuries.
