Energy Minister David Howell Visits Solar Heating Project: Mr David Howell, Secretary of State for Energy, today visited one of Europe's largest solar assisted domestic water heating projects as Whateley Road, Southwark, The project, organised by the South London Consortium, covers a terace of 14 Victorian houses. Each house has been completely modernised, insulted to modern standards and has a 5 square metre solar panel installed on its South facing roof. The project is supported by the Department of Energy by a contribution of £64,000 to be spent over 2 years.
