Bar Baptism for Blizzard Baby: After 4 foot snowdrifts prevented a family from reaching the church, a baby was baptised yesterday in the bar of a hotel in Exeter, Devon. The clergyman, the Rev Ken Warren, used a champagne bucket as a font when he baptised Alexis Jane Marler in the Crawford Hotel. The family, from Brixham, were among hundreds of people marooned in the West of England as heavy snow and strong winds brought âœWinter in AprilâÂ.
