A Man With His Own Fleet of Buses.
The tramcar is alive and well, and living in a bedroom in Park North Swindon. But only on a small scale, because Stanley Wing, of 16, Kingswood Avenue, a bus driver with the Bristol Omnibus Co., has only room for OO gauge models. He has about eight of them at the moment - London trams, Paris trams, Swindon trams, they are all there going round Stanley's own town ship, built largely from cardboard kits with a few additions and modifications. "I've always been fascinated by buses, Stanley said, and even more by the old trams. It's a crying shame that they've gone off the roads. I've been making models of them for three years now." Stanley relies largely on kits bought from a toyshop. By adding electric motors and some paint he is slowly building up a fleet of his own.
