Israeli and Egyptian troops in artillery battle.: Described as one of the heaviest artillery duels since the six-day war took place on Sunday between Egyptian and Israeli troops along a 70 mile stretch of the Suez Canal from Kantara to port Suez. For over four hours Egyptian and Israeli artillery unites slammed shell into each other's position, and often at point blank range with little more than 50 meters of the Suez Canal separating the two sides. Israeli casualties were announed as 10 soldiers killed and 19 wounded. Damage on the Israeli side two tanks hit, a church and two mosques in kantara hit, and two Arab civilians in kantara wounded.
