Workers in Protest March.: Five thousand angry men and women downed tools yesterday in protest over plans to shut their factory. The workers, from the
Associated Electrical Industries plant in Woolwich, London, then marched in a mile-long queue to a cinema where they met union chiefs. Mr. Christopher Mayhew, M.P. for East Woolwich, who addressed the meeting, described the company's decision to close the factory as a "bombshell which has wrecked the entire area's employment situation ."
