African Capital elects All-African Government: Accra, capital of the Gold Coast with an estimated population of 150,000, recently elected a new Municipal Council - an all-African body which will govern the city for the next three years. The election was one more example of how the Gold Coast, with the cooperation of the British Government, is moving toward self-government in a democratic manner.: Photo shows the inauguration of the new Accra Municipal Council.
