Iain MacLeod the Peacemaker in the Shipyard strike - A settlement of the shipyard strike is in sight. Mr. Iain MacLeod, the Minister of Labour, reported this to Mr. R.A. Butler, acting Prime Minister, and an emergency meeting of home-front Ministers of the House of Commons just before midnight last night. Sir Wilfred Neden, the Ministry's Chief Industrial Commissioner, is aiming to bring the two sides in the dispute, which is threatened to be the prelude to Britain's greatest labour crisis since 1926, together at a round-table conference today.
