Time to take the gloves off says CBI Chief - Sir Terence Beckett
Sir Terence Beckett, Director General of the Confederation of British Industry, urged businessmen to copy SAS tactics in storming government, if the price of saving British Industry meant higher taxes and an increase in the price of "booze and fags'' the two had better do it, he said. Businessmen had to "take the gloves off and have a bare knuckle fight'' to get the government to change policies. He made this hard hitting attack at the close of the CBI conference at Brighton yesterday.
