Doctor wants his five young daughters to get German measles.: A doctor is to invite a little girl with German measles to his home during the summer holidays so that his five young daughters can catch the infection. The reason why Dr. Charles Stevens, a director of the National Spastics Society, is doing this is he wants his grandchildren to be healthy. Dr. Stevens said at Chesterfield, Derbyshire, yesterday that the latest medical evidence goes to show that women who catch German measles when expecting babies are more likely to give birth to spastic children. It is much better than girls should catch it when young, he added. Dr. Stevens has nine children altogether. Photo shows Mrs. Catherine Stevens photographed at her Maidehead, Berkshire, home with three of her children, Antonia, 8, Mark, 6, and Mary, 4.
