MP arrested under the Official Secrets Act - Mr. William James Owen, 68 year old Labour MP for the Morpeth Division of Northumberland, was arrested last night and charged under the Official Secrets Act. He appeared this morning at Bow Street police station. He was arrested by Special Branch officers last night and taken to Cannon Row police station and detained overnight. Mr. Owen, an ex-miner, is the Chairman of the London-based Berolina Travel, a company which promotes tourism and travel in Communist East Germany in Dover Street Mayfair.
