Parents did not loose patience for nine year, Frontier cut them from their child; Bathed in tears bank accountant Otto Vostatek greeted last Sunday at the border station of Gmuend his 12 year old daughter Anni and pressed her to his breast. The child did not understand it's native tongue, on the other side of the frontier an Austrian girl was changed into a Cech, Her father hailing from Austria became at the "Protectorate" a German soldier who found himself in 1945 in a Pow-camp. The then 3 years old child remained with her grandmother at Prague while her mother who is of British origin wen to England to renew her native documents. When Otto Vostatek released fro m the Pow-camp reached Vienna, the couple met again in the Austrian capital. But in the meantime the events of 1948 happened in the CSR which fact made it impossible for the girl to leave that country. All the many applications sent by the worried parents to the Cech authorities and highest government officers remained for 5 years unanswered. Only when the case was mentioned at a session of the parliament at Vienna and the Austrian Federal Government started officially to intervene a ray of hope gleamed for the family. Some more months ere necessary to bring the matter to an issue and the goal was reached when the young girl stepped on Austrian soil getting out of the train which arrived at the Austrian border station with 10 minutes delay. Those few minutes more seemed to strain the fathers hither to existing patience to the greatest extreme. Photo Shows The father Otto Vostatek and his daughter Anni.
