At Malta he began an intensive inspection tour of the middle east air force. Immediately Behind the secretary of state for air stands air Vice Marshal N.H. Death, air officer Commanding, Malta. Beind Odbert, Commanding R.A.F. Luca, and Air Commodore A.D. Adnams, Director of Operations at the Air Ministry.
