Description
West Berlin's Chamber of Deputies Elects a New Senate; very surely Richard von Weizsacker (Richard Von Weizsacker - our picture) can form his CDU minority senate on June 11th, because contrary to a resolution of the party congress four West Berlin FDP delegates have decided to support him. Horst Vetter, Walter Rasch, Guido Brunner and Edgar Swinne explained that they feel obliged to enable a formation of a senate for "the town's welfare" and to give Weizsacker an his team "a fair chance". This way of acting of the four liberals has led to vehement discussions and to the order, given by the members of the FDP, to retire from their mandate of deputies. With the help of the FDP Weizsacker hopes to govern the whole time of the legislative period.

Photo measures 6 x 8 inches.
