Duke's wife watches as husband breaks world air speed record.: Squadron Leader Neville Duke, the brilliant test pilot won back the world's air speed record for Britain yesterday with an average speed of 727.6 m.p.h. Flying a red Hawker Hunter aircraft his speeds over the four record breaking runs were First run, 716.7 m.p.h. Second run, 738 mph Third run 716.5 m.p.h. and Fourth, 738.6 m.p.h.
