Don Magnuson, Seattle newspaperman who was Democrat's choice as congressman-at-large in Washington State's primary election Tuesday, shown in Seattle with "Andrew Jackson," his "No. 1 campaigner and vote-getter." Magnuson, not related to Senator Warren Magnuson (D-WA) claimed he won nomination by parading Andy as "animated billboard" at public gatherings. Newsman's daughter, Terry, at left.
