Lt. Gen. Louis W. Truman, above, heads an eight-man mission named by President Kennedy to make an urgent survey of the needs of United Nations forces in the Congo and ability to deal with what Washington fears may be increased conflicts over Congo unification. The announcement was made at Nassau, Bahamas, during preliminary talks between the President and Britain's Prime Minister MacMillan.
