Helen Mirren stars as "Mrs. Reinhardt" in a ninety-minute drama based on a short story by novelist Edna O'Brien. Mrs. Reinhardt goes to Brittany after discovering her husband's infidelity. There she meets a young American, Steve (Brad Davis), and they have a brief, torrid affair which ends unhappily. She returns to her husband but her life is changed and her values have been shaken. The "Great Performances" presentation airs on Monday, December 7th at 8 pm over PBS. The show is made possible by and by local public television stations.
