Mazda's RX-2, with its highly acclaimed Wankel rotary engine, has won the 1972 "Import Car of the Year" award over 33 others in a national competition sponsored by Road Test magazine. Mazda was cited as "car of the year and probably of the decade," for the performance and economy of its unique engine and the total car engineering. The award was announced here and will be presented by Mazda in Los Angeles.
