Description
Seattle, Washington - Mazda Motors of America introduced Thursday along the West Coast its RX2, the second Mazda line of cars powered by the German-designed Wankel rotary engine developed by Mazda's parent company, Toyo Kogyo of Hiroshima, Japan. The engine uses rotors which spin instead of the conventional engine's piston which pump up and down. First rotary-powered Mazda in the United States was the smaller R-100 first offered in Seattle in mid-1970.
