The XB70A (XB-70A) supersonic bomber, finally ready for flight tests after several years of controversy over its worth, drags its slow-down parachutes behind at the end of a taxi test at NOrth American Aviation's Palmdale, California, plant yesterday. The 185-foot ship is scheduled to make its first flight Monday. More than $1 billion have been spent on the plane and a sister plane which is not yet finished. U.S. USAF United States Air Force.
