The first of three United States (U.S.) U2 (U-2) planes flown to Britain for high-altitude weather reconnaissance touches down with one wing low at the U.S. Strategic Air Command base in Oxfordshire today after a seven-hour flight form Plattsburgh, New York. The plane is the same type of aircraft flown by Francis Gary Powers when he was brought down over Russia two years ago to precipitate a cold war ...Airplanes.
