Maiden flight. The two-place A-7 II-2, a prototype airplane designed and manufactured by LTV Aeroscape Corp. Chance Vought in Dallas, Texas, clears the runway on its maiden flight. The "Stretched" version of the Navy's N-7E Corsaire II, reached an altitude of 17,500 feet and achieved 560 knots true air speed on the 550 minute flight August 29. Plane. Airplanes.
