Curran lauds efforts of Communists. Although denying he was a Communist, Joseph Curran, leader of the Committee for Industrial Organization Maritime Union, told the Senate commerce and labor committees February 17 that the Communist party had done more for industrial workers than any of the so-called and self-appointed Liberal agencies existent to date. He is shown with Senator Royal S. Copeland (left) (D-NY) man of the Commerce Committee.
