1974 Press Photo Gerald Barr Demonstrates Beating on Officer Rodriguez's Car

Gerald Barr, 30, a visiting student from Atlanta, Georgia, shows how he first beat on a car window before he freed Galveston undercover narcotics officer Rosalio Rodriguez, 25, today from his burning car on the South Loop of Stella Link. Barr was driving on the loop at 3:15 a.m. when he saw the burning car. The doors were locked, but Barr motioned to Rodriguez to unlock one of them. Rodriguez, who suffered burns, was in fair condition today at Ben Taub Hospital.
