Deepwater oil field. This is an artist's conception of an underwater petroleum production system developed by Mobil Oil Corp. and North American Rockwell Corp will look. The Mobil-North American Rockwell system calls for satellite production stations to serve as central collection and maintenance points for groups of wells that area automatically serviced through the legs of the structure. The satellites are joined by flowlines to a common manifold and this is connected to a floating processing and storage facility on the water's surface. In the system, a Beaver-type submarine can also be used to assist in such operations as site surveys and field installations. Oil - Tidelands.
