The rally, which drew about 150, was sponsored by Right to Life, a national antiabortion group. Tuesday was the first anniversary of the Supreme Court ruling overturning antiabortion laws. The ringing of church bells and participation in antiabortion actions were encouraged by Bishop James S. Rausch, general secretary of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops, in a letter to each bishop in the nation. Right to Life (group)
