Dressed in colorful saris, young Indian women follow directions of soldier and woman drill instructor as they train on campus of Darrang College at Tezpur, Assam, last Tuesday. Many women students have joined with male students in preparing to resist the drive of Chinese Red forces in the northeast Frontier Agency. Lull in the fighting was broken today on the eastern sector of the Himalayan front when Indians and Chinese exchanged shots. This picture is one of a series made by AP staff photographer Dennis Lee Royle.
