Houston schools - Cooley Elementary. Daniel D. Cooley, a pioneer of the Heights and a founder of Cooley Elementary School, 300 West 17th Street, has been honored by the planting of a magnolia tree and a plaque on the school campus. Admiring the memorial are Principal Jesse Martin and Daniel Denton Cooley Ii, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Cooley. The pioneer Cooley was the grandfather of Ralph Cooley and noted heart surgeon Dr. Denton Cooley. Daniel Denton Cooley II, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Cooley. He's 16 and nephew of Dr. Denton Cooley.
